Tunely is built on a simple principle: your data stays on your device. We don't collect personal information, we don't run servers that receive your data, and we don't sell anything about you to anyone.
Tunely ("we," "our," or "the app") is a guitar tuner and music practice tool for Android. This Privacy Policy describes how Tunely handles information when you use the app. By using Tunely, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Tunely requires access to your device microphone to perform real-time pitch detection. Audio is processed entirely on your device. We do not record, buffer, store, upload, or transmit audio data of any kind. No audio signal ever leaves your phone. You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your Android device settings or through your browser settings, though the tuner feature will no longer function without it.
We do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or location. Tunely does not require an account. However, we do use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized usage data — such as which features are used and how often — to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
All user-created content — custom chords, practice progressions, settings — is stored locally on your device using Android local storage or your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your phone and is deleted if you uninstall the app.
Tunely displays ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob is a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. As part of ad delivery, AdMob may collect certain device-level information including advertising identifiers (GAID), IP address, device type, and general usage patterns. This data collection is governed solely by Google's Privacy Policy.
You can limit ad personalization through your Android device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalization (earlier versions). You can also learn more at Google's Partner Policy.
Tunely does not receive or store any data that AdMob collects. We have no access to individual user profiles created by AdMob.
Tunely may offer premium features through Google Play in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Google Play. We do not receive, store, or have access to any payment card information, billing details, or transaction data. For purchase-related questions, contact Google Play support.
Tunely integrates the following third-party services:
Google AdMob — serves advertisements within the app. May collect device identifiers and usage data for ad delivery.
Firebase Analytics — used to understand how users interact with the app (screen views, feature usage, session data). Firebase Analytics collects device identifiers, app instance IDs, and aggregated usage events. No personally identifiable information is attached to analytics events. Data is processed by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
For the Tunely website, we use Firebase Analytics to understand traffic patterns and page performance. This may involve the use of cookies and similar technologies in your browser.
Tunely is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app's advertising implementation is configured for a general audience. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Because we do not collect or transmit personal data, there is no user data stored on our servers to protect. Audio is processed entirely in memory and discarded immediately after pitch detection. All locally stored app data (chords, progressions, settings) remains on your device under Android's standard application sandboxing protections.
Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no data profile to access, correct, or delete on our end. Your locally stored app data can be deleted at any time by clearing app data through your Android device settings or by uninstalling the app. If you are a California resident, please see our California Privacy Notice.
